The Greatest Physician

James, my now husband, (we got married March 2024), is a liver transplant. When I started dating him 4 years prior to our wedding, I knew life would be hard from a health perspective. But I had no idea it would be so hard that it would impact my own health. It is said that every transplant deals with rejection, and that was the assumption of the physicians, but they don’t deal with the impact of the health of the gutt from the anti-rejection meds.

This last year, he started showing some jaundice in his eyes and slight dry cough. I’m a health coach and God gave me an intuitive understanding of the human body as a gift. The Holy Spirit tends to tell me things I should not know and He is ALWAYS right! This particular time, God led me down a path of research to understand what the jaundice and itching was. Because I was not a doctor, no one would listen to me.

A year later, 4 hospital stays in Chicago and Denver, $20K in debt later and further destruction of his body from the prednisone black, mycophenolate, tacrolimus, antibiotics, antivirals and thymoglobulin rabbit treatments, and 4 biopsies, they confirmed that what I had said all along was right. He did have either a liver fluke or damage to his bile ducts in his liver. They didn’t really see anything but what they assumed was that he had 5 of 9 rejection and needed all these drugs.

Sadly, doctors often don’t listen. And after a slew of drugs that destroyed his nerves causing some issues with a lazy eye and neurological damage where he forgets things easily now, (it has gotten better) we went through alot of stress. The money for our wedding had flown out the door due to doctors “emergency” request for him to go to the hospital in a city we didn’t live in, and so much more..which is a story for another time. But the point was the emmense stress on me caused my gutt some major damage.

Chronic stress is linked to six leading causes of death including heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver and suicide, according to the American Psychological Association. Not just food, genetics or toxins. But what people don’t realize is that we are made in God’s likeness(Body, Mind and Spirit) and as God is Mind(God or head). Body(Jesus) and Spirit(Holy Spirit) and you can’t separate them. When one is damaged so will the other two.

Stress of the mind damages our spirit and body. They are interconnected. Negative emotions, such as fear, can dysregulate our vagul nerve, the major regulator of body functions and the connection from our brain to our gut(second brain). This causes all kinds of issues, like dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system. The result can be devastating and my result was gutt health. I ended up with major goiter when my late husband died and with James poor health, I ended up with diverticulitis. The doctors normally would put you on antibiotics which would destroy any good bacteria as well as any bad, and prednisone, as they say it stops the body from attacking itself. The problem isn’t an over reaction of the body, it is the gaping holes in the gut. And the only way to fix that is natural medicine designed by the Great Physician.

James had decided to invest in seeing a Functional MD. This type of doctor is an actual doctor, who knows a level of both worlds, sometimes labeled as integrated medicine. His focus was on the gutt health while working with the transplant team. Transplant doctors often will say that you cannot mix natural and transplant medicine, but that simply is not true.

God designed HIS medicine to help your body heal itself. James is a good example. The honeymoon in Destin, the functional medicine, the gutt healing actions and dietary together with lifstyle changes, all made an impact. When we forget that the Greatest Physician also knows how to heal you, we forget that His ways over rule man’s way. There are rules to live by, eat by and think by all written in His Word. When we start listening to what man’s wisdom says(research) and not by what God has commanded(Biblical truths to live by) we loose our way and then label it “It was his/her time” or “God called him/her home”. But the Bible says that it is not His will that anyone should perrish.

Now, after months of repair using function medicine and biblical principles, James is thriving, his and my gutt health has substantially improved, and the itching and jaundice is gone! The transplant doctors call him and anomily, or unicorn. I even had one doctor say I missed my calling, but what she didn’t know is I have the greatest physician of all as my mentor.

The solution is not just one thing, it is multifaceted and requires understanding and consistant action that aligns with God’s Word. Everything we need to stay well and live a whole, happy and healthy life, free of today’s devestating diseases without medication is writen in His Word. But today’s theology tends to twist and misinterpret scripture. This has cause a lukewarm christianity, and is the root of why so many find it nauseating. They don’t know our loving, life giving Father, YHWH. Even His name has been changed to a general term “God”.

In the next few posts, I will teach God’s way of living and eatting that pleases Him. This truth brings life to the body and honors the temple. I will bring clarity and understanding for scriptures we are familiar with on how to eat and live and correct bad theology that has been accepted by the Christian church, that which twists the truth of what was meant. And I will teach exactly why God gave these rules to live by, especially in an age of such extreme pestilance, so it will connect the dots for you to understand that He is a loving God, disciplines those He loves, and has a way to prevent sickness and to heal from it.

I will share my incredible journey of how I overcame many autoimmune diseases, including hashimoto’s. bulemia, lupus, cancer, addison’s disease, chronic fatigue, and diverticulitis. I will share with you the trajedies and traumas God brought me through.

I will teach how to “Heal God’s Way”.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
